United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Iran, stands alongside other UN agencies to reflect on the progress and challenges in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Recognizing that millions remain vulnerable to HIV infection, Mr. Abdel-Ahad - The representative a.i. of the UNFPA Country Office in Iran- emphasized the persistent impact of stigma and discrimination in hindering individuals' rights to information and services for preventing and treating HIV.

In a united front, UNFPA Iran, as a cosponsor of UNAIDS, collaborates with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education to reiterate their commitment to the shared goal of ending the AIDS epidemic. In a statement,  The representative a.i. of the UNFPA Iran underscored the significance of this year's theme, "Let Communities Lead," highlighting the crucial role that communities play in raising awareness and providing support to people living with HIV.

The vision of zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths is central to UNFPA's mission of achieving universal access to sexual and reproductive health. Abdel-Ahad emphasized that preventing HIV is integral to ensuring that no one is left behind, aligning with UNFPA's commitment to universal access and inclusivity.

As part of the Joint United Nations Team on AIDS (JUNTA), UNFPA Iran stands at the forefront of the global effort, acknowledging the need for long-term investments to combat HIV/AIDS effectively. On this World AIDS Day, the joint reflection serves as a poignant reminder of the collective responsibility to address the challenges ahead and work towards a world where the AIDS epidemic is a thing of the past.

We live in a high-tech world, but individuals with disabilities often face barriers to technology and computer use.

24 year-old Shirin Manzari makes sure individuals with disabilities enjoy the benefits of computers by developing technology that helps blind or visually impaired people read the content of computer screens, write text without the use of a keyboard, and control the computer without the use of a mouse.

On International Youth Day, UNFPA Iran honors Shirin and other young Iranians who play a key role in achieving sustainable development where no one is left behind

Today we celebrate #WorldRefugeeDay, a day to commemorate the courage and resilience of refugees and remember that we all have an important role to play in fulfilling the rights of refugees! This is why, today we, #UNFPA #Iran and our #UN sisters show solidarity with the refugees and pay tribute to their strength.

#UNHCR’s annual Global Trends report shows that an unprecedented 79.5 million were displaced as of the end of 2019; it represents the entire population of #Iran! We have not seen a higher total as of now.

Afghanistan, our neighboring country, is one of the five countries that represents two-thirds of the displaced across borders: Syria, Venezuela, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Myanmar. This is why UNFPA Iran likes to pay tribute today to all the Afghan women and girls who have been forced to flee their country and appriciate the Iranian government and the Iranian people for warmly welcoming them and offering them the opportunity to live a decent life.

The story of Masoumeh Nategh is a concrete story when we join the efforts and work together #UNFPAIRAN #IUMS #MOHME #ItalyinIran we make the difference.

On World Refugee Day, UNFPA Iran reaffirms its commitment to work with our national and international partners in the Islamic Republic of Iran to ensure that refugees have access to, are provided with maternal and reproductive health services and protected from gender-based violence. Every action counts.

#WorldRefugeeDay
