Following to the participation in one-day training workshop on “Age-Friendly City, Participation and Social Protection”, jointly organized by the State Welfare Organization and the Municipality of Isfahan on 10th of October, 2018, Dr. Leila Joudane, UNFPA Representative met with H.E. Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, Governor General of Isfahan Province.
During this meeting H.E. Dr. Mehralizadeh welcomed Dr. Joudane and recognized UNFPA’s support for the scope of the activities in the framework of its country programmes during the past years. He stated that the government of I.R. of Iran has mobilized its financial and human resources to meet the international standards for cities where every citizen can enjoy a healthy life. His Excellency appreciated the work of UN agencies in Iran.
Dr. Joudane expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality of the local authorities and recommended their efforts in their missions. She congratulated the authorities in Isfahan for effective collaboration and coordination between welfare and health sectors as well as the Municipality to ensure all population live in respect and dignity. She stated that UNFPA Iran CO will continue its support to the officials in Isfahan to develop an integrated strategic plan for human-friendly environment.
