The UNFPA Representative, Dr. Leila Joudane and the Deputy Minister of Welfare of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare of I.R. Iran, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Meidari signed a new Memorandum of Understanding on Sunday, 3 June 2018. 

The MoU announced the start of a joint cooperation with the Office of Empowerment and Support of the ministry in the area of women affairs in general, and the field of female-heads of households in particular. The new cooperation aims at conducting a comprehensive situation analysis of the socio-economic and health status of female-heads of household as well as evaluation of the support systems for needy women in place.  

The cooperation will pave the way for advocacy and policy reform in the area of female-heads of households and supportive plans.
